Kindergarten Roundup (Win a $300 Amazon gift card!)
Here's what I remember about kindergarten:
1) My teacher's name was Miss Hamlin, and she had the cutest Dorothy Hamill haircut. If you don't know who Dorothy Hamill is and you Google her name, don't snicker about how old I must be to know that.
2) Gary Bowman used to tug on my brownish-blonde hair when I had it in pigtails, and one day I came home and tearfully told my mother to cut it all off because I didn't want to be a doorbell. (She didn't comply.)
3) There was a cute boy named Zachary Bennett who lived next door to me, and the girls used to play "Catch 'em, Kiss 'em" as they chased him around the recess yard (I may or may not have participated). Maybe that's why his family moved away after that year. I also remember he used to call his grandfather "Crappaw"... or maybe that's just my mom who remembers that nugget of information.
4) I asked my mom if my little sister missed me when I started kindergarten, and she said, straight up, "No, we had a good time." Thanks for that, Mom.
In related kindergarten-era memories, my sister and I had a tug of war over my stuffed Pluto (pictured above) that ended with Pluto torn in half. Oh, the shame. Buckets of tears ensued.
I pretty much have the same face as I had in kindergarten, plus or minus a few lines. My puppy-dog brown eyes give it away.
In the name of celebrating kindergarten, I banded together with a wonderful bunch of bloggers (there are 23 of us!), to offer something fun to our readers.
We present to you:
Here's all you have to do - just match the pictures (with the assigned alphabet) to the bloggers listed below.
What's in it for you? Other than some fun, you can win a $300 Amazon gift card. You can also get to know some of the bloggers listed here, if you don't already. You can have a laugh at our expense. (Don't worry, we did.) Now, go forth and play!
